Even though it's been the Easter holidays... and we've spent our days hanging out with our small people (instead of working as hard as normal), behind the scenes we've also been creating a shiny new website for the awesome Violet & Charlie!

Any company who has the tag line of: "sign up & say f**k it to the rest!" TOTALLY has our vote.

We've loved working with Violet & Charlie (whose real names are Jodie and Chloe) on this project (they are such a laugh!) and we're super proud of their branding which we also designed for them.

The awesome photography on the Violet & Charlie website was done by Ailsa Bee Photography who we recommended to Jodie and Chloe the start of the year. Alisa's such an awesome photographer - using her photos on website builds is bloody great. It brings businesses to life!

Yay Violet & Charlie said some lovely stuff about us!

"It's been an absolute pleasure doing business with Fi & Becs. Not only have they built us a brand and website that we're super proud of and is getting amazing feedback, they have been fun, engaging and made the whole experience easy peasy which is exactly what we were looking for. The icing on the cake is that they don't charge you the earth either and Fi has the patience of a saint with all of our tooing and froing over page changes for the website. We love you guys and you're ace! x"

So, if you think a 'funky, no shit behavioural change development programme for women' would be good for you, head on over and sign up to their FREE programme! We've already signed up!

Having grown up in the Cumbrian countryside with a family ritual of Sunday lunches at the local pub, we both love a good country pub. So we were very excited when Lynda from the Railway Inn in Mobberley got in touch with us looking for some new branding, a new website and general help with all things marketingy!

The first job we worked on with the Railway Inn was to develop them a new brand as they were using lots of different styles on their posters, menus signs etc. This was a great job because Lynda and Tony didn't have a strong idea of what they were looking for - so we had lots of lovely creative freedom!

Brilliantly Lynda and Tony actually got their customers in the pub to vote on which was their favourite logo design and the one shown above was chosen! Once the new Railway Inn logo was launched (and loved by the pub!) we started work on their posters and Light Bites Menu... giving them a friendly, welcoming look and feel which matched their new brand.

With the posters and menu designed and in use... we turned our attentions to the Railway Inn's new website. The Railway Inn already had a website, but they wanted a fresh look to show off their lovely country pub and a website they could update easily with their events info.

Following our advice (as we realised they could do with some great photography!) Lynda at the Railway Inn worked with a great local photographer Kanashay Photography who produced some gorgeous photos of the pub - a delight to use when designing the new website!

The new Railway Inn website has launched today and we are very excited to introduce it to the world - we shall we having a pint this evening to celebrate!

Following on from our last news article... (please scroll down to see!)

...we are totally over the moon to announce that the website we designed for Kate Scott Photography has won HIGHLY COMMENDED in the Best Website category for the National Wedding Industry Awards!

In typical Mum-style we were all sat on our sofas (with a glass of wine) glued to the National Wedding Industry Awards Twitter account on the night... and we literally burst with excitement when it was announced that Kate's website had won Highly Commended!

Her website was selected from 40 shortlisted websites by Guides for Brides - we are so so pleased for Kate - she totally deserves it - HOORAY!

Here is Kate's blog post all about it - have a read!

It's nearly one year (on the 22nd January to be exact) since we launched the website for the amazing photographer Kate Scott Photography... Doesn't time fly!

Having adored working with Kate to design and build her website (and fallen in love with her stunning photography), it's been awesome to see how Kate has grown and developed her website in the last 12 months.

We love reading Kate's news posts and the blog articles she adds with her recent photography work are mindblowingly gorgeous.

So... you can imagine how excited we were (VERY!) when Kate told us that her website had been shortlisted in the Best Website category for the National Wedding Industry Awards!

Here's how Kate's website got selected as a finalist:

Judged solely by the expert team at www.guidesforbrides.co.uk, more than 400 entrants opted into the Best Website category... and only 42 have been shortlisted. This category is not based on client votes and is only awarded on a national basis.

As we said one year ago:

"Some websites are just easier to make beautiful than others. Kate Scott Photography's website was one of the easy ones."

The winner will be announced at the national awards event at the Cafe de Paris, London, on Thursday 14th January... we can't wait to find out who wins!

It's always an exciting job to launch a website for a client, so it's a lovely mid-week task for us to reveal the brand new website for Henszel Designs!

Jonathan and Anna from Henszel Designs got in touch with us back in October as they needed a website for their architecture business based in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.

Armed with advert that they had previously designed (below), Jonathan and Anna asked us to design them a professional, modern website that would (in their words!) "provide a clear statement of 'welcome' and where you have arrived... an architect's website!"

We used their existing advert as inspiration for their website design.
We used their existing advert as inspiration for their website design.

Using their advert as a basis for the design, we developed the whole Henszel Design website including copywriting their text and displaying the stunning imagery of their architectural projects.

"Henszel Designs is headed up by Anna Craig, a Qualified Architect with many years experience managing builds and extensions for clients and investors, following extensive studies in Poland and Holland.

With an armoury of specialist construction and material knowledge, we can also provide a detailed design concept for both interior and exterior projects"

We have loved working on this website for Henszel Design - it's so satisfying to help a business develop consistent marketing materials which suit their brand and portray the look/feel they want to achieve!

Last week on Saturday 20th June Becs joined a group of local organisers from the Altrincham French Festival to brave the rain and tell people all about the festival which is taking place on 11th and 12th July in Stamford Park in Hale, Altrincham.

Armed with leaflets and banners (designed by the lovely Danimoly Studio) plus typically French berrets and lots of enthusiasm it was a great day and the Organising Team were really excited to see how many people already knew about the festival and were planning on coming along!

Becs became part of the Organising Committee for the Altrincham French Festival after Zainul, the Festival Director contacted Fi & Becs in early in 2014 looking for some website and marketing support.

Having gone to the festival last year (along with her excitable toddler) and having a fab time, Becs was delighted to become one of the main Commitee Organisers and build the festival's first ever website.

Take a look at the French Festival website: www.altyfrenchfestival.co.uk

So if you're free on Sunday the 12th of July and fancy coming along to a fabulous, FREE and family-friendly festival in South Manchester - come to the Altrincham French Festival!

Plus... on the eve of Saturday 11th July the festival is hosting a Bastile event at Bowdon Rugby Club with food, fun and fireworks.

Broster’s Farm Shop announced on their Facebook page that they needed a new website. They wanted to visually update their old one and also be able to sell their fresh Yorkshire meat online. Rather a lot of local website companies posted on the Facebook page that they could help, so imagine the delight when they chose us to design their new logo and website!

After developing Broster's a lovely new logo, it was time to build their website.

What we love about designing websites like this are the details... The icons used in the headers, the vintage butchers cart line drawing on the footer of the website, the colours that symbolise the different meats.

The difference between using a web developing company and using Fi & Becs is that you get a DESIGNED website. We see websites as interactive brochures, not a templated standard website (which ALL look the same!). We tap into the heart of the brand to ensure that the website is perfect in every detail. In this case we even designed a Wholesale Price List - as we couldn’t bear the thought of just listing prices on a website!

We hope you all like the new website - Broster's meat is amazing:

In early 2015, Manchester based dental practice KS Dental got in touch with us after seeing a post we had written about website design on the local social network Street Life.

With two dental practices located in Sale and Urmston (local to Becs!) KS Dental already had a website but they wanted something which was more exciting and engaging for their online presence.

After have a couple of quick chats with Annemarie from KS Dental, we started work on building them a brand new website (teeth graphics 'n all). From copywriting to the overall design, page build, SEO and re-directing the domain - everything was done within 3 weeks.

Here is some of our copywriting in action:

"Our dental practice offers a wide range of services from routine dental treatments to cosmetic dentistry including implants, teeth whitening, veneers, bridges and more.

Located in Sale, Greater Manchester, we pride ourselves on giving a warm, friendly and welcoming service to all of our clients."

We've really enjoyed working on this website, particularly as KS Dental gave us free reign to add some nice design features like the tooth puzzle graphic and the shiny tooth on the Teeth Whitening Page
